David LaChapelle


 

 

David LaChapelle was born in Connecticut in 1969. He graduated as an artist in the Fine Arts School of North Carolina before moving to New York City. Then LaChapelle enrolled in the School of Visual arts and in the Fine Arts League. Andy Warhol gave him his first job as a photographer for Interview Magazine. Recently considered one of the ten most important photographers by American Photo Magazine, LaChapelle has won several awards and recognitions.

His images, fresh, free, bizarre and extraordinary had been published in Italian Vogue, Vanity Fair, ID, Vibe, Interview, the Face, GQ and many more. His dedication and originality in his work has granted him the status of legend in the fashion, music, advertising and movie industries. LaChapelle also has made campaigns for clients such as Iceberg, MTV, Ecko, Diesel, Sirius, Ford, Sky Vodka and Got Milk and numerous CD Covers for artists like Macy Gray, Moby, No doubt, Whitney Houston, Lil’ Kim, Elton John, and Madonna.
