Like many others, Helmut Newton could not resist to the temptation of capturing women. From the beginning of his career he pointed his camera towards the female body portraying great eroticism and sexuality. Newton´s point of view is unique and unmistakable.
The woman he shows us has a cold erotic attitude. He shows an unmoved woman, distant like a mannequin but loaded with sexuality. Sometimes naked in luxurious hotel rooms or awkward urban setups, perfect like a clay figure. Other times he present women taking control over other women, with dog collars or orthopedic devices. Dangerous women, deranged, half naked half dressed women, nasty women, dreamy women, nightmare women. Always women. Helmut Newton passed away in 2004.
