Richard Avedon


 

 

Richard Avedon began taking pictures at the age of ten, his first model was the Russian composer Serguei Rachmaninov personal friend of his parents. He studied image in the New School of Social Research after witch he began to work for Harper´s Bazaar (1946-1965), Vogue (1966-1990) and The New Yorker.

Avedon had become one of the most influential photographers in the century with a style always filled with contrasts either visual (black and white) or conceptual (sophistication and coldness).

In 1959 he published his firs photography book, Observations, followed by Nothing Personal in 1974 and Portraits in 1976.
