The Tree Hotel, located at Harrads Sweden, is a place inspired by the documentary film “Trädälskaren” (Treelover) by Jonas Selberg Augustsen and by the idea of creating a comfortable, well designed hotel which allows visitors to live in harmony with nature amongst the trees .

The concept “live in a tree house” has been handed over to a select group of established modern designers and architects. The result is a hotel with a unique collection of rooms, all different, where you can enjoy a comfortable, and truly memorable experience up in the trees.

Rooms available are the “Mirrorcube” by Tham & Videgård Architects, “The Cabin” by Cyrén & Cyrén, “The Nest” by Inredningsgruppen, “UFO” by Inredningsgruppen / Bertil Harström, “A room with a view” by Marge Architects and “Blue Cone” by Sandell Sandberg.

The human energy recycle system is an innovative concept that can gather energy emitted by human or even pets. This energy is used to power other devices, ensuring a new lifestyle for mass people with reduced electric bills and complementing to the environment.

The system comprises lightweight, compact and portable units named ‘Solution Units’, designed to be worn in different spots of the human body, which collects energy from spinning, shaking, human heartbeat, body temperature and various other types of movements, and stores the energy into the ‘Standard Battery’ inside.

When emergency power is required for a mobile device, these units can be connected to the device directly. Alternatively, the energy of the battery can be stored in the ‘Application’ units for later use.

Seed is a household centrifugal pump concept by designer Aleksander Mukomelov that can effectively water the orchards, gardens and lawns by taking water from lakes, rivers, ponds as well as from water storage reservoirs, wells and chinks in order to reduce the constant human attendance and controlling the watering procedure.

The main objective of Seed is to solve the everyday problems associated with watering and providing ultimate freedom to the owner by featuring a full function remote control on the panel that can adjust different parameters of the pump such as turning on and off, shutdown countdown, setting up the amount of flowed water, schedule how many times and when it should start working automatically, and many more. The recycled plastic made case has not only given it an organic look, but also includes electronic control function to minimize the use of electricity, and in other terms water too.

The Green Fox cleaning cart concept was designed like a cleaver fox that cleans the street with its tail combining with an environment friendly and clean image. The main goal of the concept was to reduce the hassle of street sweepers with conventional ugly looking cleaning carts that are hard to carry around and are not so functional.

The Green Fox has been designed in three phases by emphasizing trash containment, smooth mobility of the cart and portability of the kits. Firstly, the dustpan was designed to be protective for the garbage inside to keep them dry during rain and make the appearance simple. Secondly, the cart was designed to ensure convenient moving around with an easy to pull handle. Finally, the cleaning kits were kept simple, portable and functional. Designer: Youn-il Lee

The Grass Lamp by designer Marko Vuckovic is an innovative concept that has been designed to enhance the décor of a home interior with natural elements, aiming to bring warmth and uniqueness in the user’s homes. The concept incorporates a part of nature right inside the house designed to be placed on the wall to represent a modern and eco-friendly aesthetic of the home interior. Aside from helping the grass to be grown on the lamp, it discretely lightens the room which lets the user to directly connect with nature. Thin and light PVC plastic has been used to make the lamp with reserved inside space for the soil, and also features water container and areas to be lightened with great functionality.

Sanjay Puri Architect’s new Chrome Hotel features a fresh façade punctuated with holes that allow natural light to stream in while keeping air-conditioning costs to a minimum. The opaque windows were purposefully set throughout the swiss cheese façade to allow ambient natural light to enter, and they also create an incredibly cool effect at night when backlit by LED lights.

The Chrome Hotel features a number of concrete fins throughout the building that do double duty, acting as a heat barrier while adding privacy for guests. Between the windows and the fins, the hotel’s design is able to cut air conditioning cost by 25%, proving that low-tech energy saving solutions can fit within in an incredibly sleek package.
