Wrapped Garment is a fashion meets art project by Jungeun Lee a designer from The Royal College of Art in London and The Tama University in Japan that involves experimenting with different materials to create beautiful and unique materials and textures for clothing.

“I have been experimenting and researching unconventional methods of creating garments. The technique I have developed can also can be applied to create products. Wrapping synthetic fibre around a desired form or chosen objects fascinates me. Through a heating process, wound fibre transformes itself into a 3-dimensional moulded garment bringing expected and unexpected sculptural silhouettes.”

The short fashion film { THE BOX }, is the official teaser for the latest cooperative venture between the Berlin fashion label Perret Schaad and the Hamburg shoemaker Ludwig Görtz GmbH.

The film announces the exclusive shoe collection “Görtz designed by Perret Schaad” at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Berlin. This is where, on 7th July, Perret Schaad will present the collection for the coming spring & summer season 2012 for the first time.

This mysterious and atmospheric fashion film was produced for Görtz and Perret Schaad by Riese Farbaute, based in Hamburg. It was directed by Cristian Straub, who is currently much in demand as a fashion film director and producer.

The project was coordinated by the Medienwert agency. Medienwerft is one of Germany’s most experienced online agencies and for Görtz they are primarily responsible for communication via social media and the development of an online format.

Warmi is a fashion brand created by French-Colombian designer Sylvia Toth.

Created by French-Colombian designer Sylvia Toth in 2008, the Warmi brand blends tradition with modernity by interpreting Latin American folk craftsmanship with a European flair. Warmi clothing and accessories offer a perfect balance between femininity and boldness, to both inspire and delight the woman who wears them.

Warmi means woman in Quechua, one of the last indigenous languages that still exists in the Andean region. Warmi is not only a tribute to women – as artisans, a life force and the ultimate creators – but also to the tradition of a craft and ancestral “savoir faire” from a culture that is fading away.

“In Paris, I’m at the center of information, arts, culture…that’s where I create. Bogota is the city where everything is possible, a rich mixture of modern architecture, blue mountains, misery, wealth and the bizarre. A place where people always wear a smile… This is where I recharge my batteries and produce my creations, shoulder to shoulder with the artisans.”

Designer Naoki Kawamoto presented Orishiki, a collection of accesories based in the Japanese arts of Origami and Furoshiki, at DesignTide Tokyo 2010.

“Orishiki” is a hybrid word composed of “Ori,” taken from Origami, Japanese paper-folding art, and “Shiki” taken from Furoshiki, Japanese traditional wrapping cloth which is large enough to wrap and transport goods and gifts, as well as wearing them as scarves. “Orishiki” is a new carrying device consisting of a single piece of two dimensional structure, constructed of triangular segments which can be folded like origami, and can wrap things like furoshiki. The geometric bag is not only idiosyncratic in its appearance but also in its highly specialized production process. The unique process can be applied to just about any productions without losing its unique product identity.
