Created by French-Colombian designer Sylvia Toth in 2008, the Warmi brand blends tradition with modernity by interpreting Latin American folk craftsmanship with a European flair. Warmi clothing and accessories offer a perfect balance between femininity and boldness, to both inspire and delight the woman who wears them.

Warmi means woman in Quechua, one of the last indigenous languages that still exists in the Andean region. Warmi is not only a tribute to women – as artisans, a life force and the ultimate creators – but also to the tradition of a craft and ancestral “savoir faire” from a culture that is fading away.

“In Paris, I’m at the center of information, arts, culture…that’s where I create. Bogota is the city where everything is possible, a rich mixture of modern architecture, blue mountains, misery, wealth and the bizarre. Orishiki Collection




Designer Naoki Kawamoto presented Orishiki, a collection of accesories based in the Japanese arts of Origami and Furoshiki, at DesignTide Tokyo 2010.

“Orishiki” is a hybrid word composed of “Ori,” taken from Origami, Japanese paper-folding art, and “Shiki” taken from Furoshiki, Japanese traditional wrapping cloth which is large enough to wrap and transport goods and gifts, as well as wearing them as scarves. “Orishiki” is a new carrying device consisting of a single piece of two dimensional structure, constructed of triangular segments which can be folded like origami, and can wrap things like furoshiki. The geometric bag is not only idiosyncratic in its appearance but also in its highly specialized production process. The unique process can be applied to just about any productions without losing its unique product identity.
