Seed is a household centrifugal pump concept by designer Aleksander Mukomelov that can effectively water the orchards, gardens and lawns by taking water from lakes, rivers, ponds as well as from water storage reservoirs, wells and chinks in order to reduce the constant human attendance and controlling the watering procedure.

The main objective of Seed is to solve the everyday problems associated with watering and providing ultimate freedom to the owner by featuring a full function remote control on the panel that can adjust different parameters of the pump such as turning on and off, shutdown countdown, setting up the amount of flowed water, schedule how many times and when it should start working automatically, and many more. The recycled plastic made case has not only given it an organic look, but also includes electronic control function to minimize the use of electricity, and in other terms water too.

The Green Fox cleaning cart concept was designed like a cleaver fox that cleans the street with its tail combining with an environment friendly and clean image. The main goal of the concept was to reduce the hassle of street sweepers with conventional ugly looking cleaning carts that are hard to carry around and are not so functional.

The Green Fox has been designed in three phases by emphasizing trash containment, smooth mobility of the cart and portability of the kits. Firstly, the dustpan was designed to be protective for the garbage inside to keep them dry during rain and make the appearance simple. Secondly, the cart was designed to ensure convenient moving around with an easy to pull handle. Finally, the cleaning kits were kept simple, portable and functional.

Robert Restaurant unveils for its clientele an expansive view of Columbus Circle, Central Park, Broadway and Central Park West, hidden for decades since the closure of Huntington Hartford’s museum. Celebratory, sexy and romantic, designed to allow for conversation, patrons may dine sitting on sofas in the central lounge area, or be seated at the windows to enjoy the views.

Lighting is designed by San Francisco based architect Johanna Grawunder. Grawunder’s two installations are Cherry Blossom; a mobile-like chandelier installation of LED lit lucite panels and Tangerines; a series of suspended orange lucite boxes along the windowed perimeter. Sculptural steel cocktail tables, host stands and a 15 foot communal table bisected by a 6 foot high “sound wave” were created for the space by London based architect Philip Michael Wolfson. Upholstered pieces were designed by modernist master Vladimir Kagan. Project architects were Schefer Design.

Looking for “space in the context of its sensual perception,” designer Sarah Lovgren has conceived a modular lounge named “La Bande” that can be modified to be used as both a seat and a recliner. Developed in comparison with Franzi Kohlhoff, the furniture splits up into two independent sections at one end of the bande, while the longitudinal split and the flexibility of the material allows the two sections to bend separately to form space. Both the sections of the bande are hooked into a slot in the base, which gives stability of the furniture to rest the users in utmost comfort.

Powered by hybrid capacitors, capable of severe temperature with no maintenance over 10 years, the “Nissyoku” is an elegant lamp that draws inspiration from a solar eclipse to illuminate your place. Presenting a metal ring in the middle to switch it on or off, the lamp also integrates two panels, fixed with magnets, which “move on the concave surface made out of the intersection of the two globes.” Produced through vacuum forming, the lamp makes use of a 5W high-powered LED in each panel. Featuring a body finished in reusable or decomposing polymer, the lamp meeting the needs of different users can be used as hanging chandelier, table or wall lamp.

Designed by Expedition Engineering, The Infinity Bridge cuts a distinctive silhouette across the River Tees in Stockton England. A 230m-long concrete walkway is supported by a pair of asymmetric steel arches that appear to skip across the river like a pebble skimming water.

Speirs and Major Associates designed the lighting in such a way that the iconic twin arches reflect in the water at night to form the mathematical symbol for infinity – hence the name.

The designers bounced blue light off the water to light the underbelly of the deck and form a blue zone above the water. Cold white light was used to reveal the structural form and create the sense of a floating wave hovering just above the deck.

At Maison et Objet 2010 in Paris, Dutch designer Marre Moerel presented her new collection of earthenware ceramics, based on the universal cone shape. Through experimentation and manipulation she developed several objects with very different forms and functions.

From the basic cone shapes Moerel created ‘Diamond Lights’ a new series of pendant and wall lamps, by joining 2 cone shapes at their base and cutting into the newly created rhomboid. Resulting were 3 different models in 3 different sizes.

The Monja series has been created by stacking one cone on top of another and lighting the piece from within. Through the opaqueness of the ceramic, the upper shade seems to be floating above the lower ceramic base, hereby creating a more abstract sculptural composition.
